WHAT DO I NEED TO bring with me to training?
Basically just a pair of trainers, some comfortable sportswear and maybe some water if needed.
WHEN ARE THE TRACK SESSIONS AND WHAT GROUP WILL I BE IN?
Sessions are every Wednesday 7pm-8pm for adult members.
Group 1 - Coach David 'The Chief' Edwards - sub 22min 5k. The fastest of the groups. These sessions based mainly on a structured distance efforts, with some based at a disciplined pace,
Group 2 - Coach Mandy Lee - Sub 30min 5k. Very mixed efforts group. Ideal for everyone with most efforts based on time not distance, allowing the athlete to do what they can in the allotted time.
Group 3 - Coach Helen Eaton - Beginner/Steady group. Ideal for people new to running or runners who complete 5k in 30mins+. Steady warm up with short efforts.
Cost are £1 for Members. £2 for non members. The track session is wheel chair friendly with access to disabled toilets. 16 years and over only.

Do you have sessions for children?
Yes. Our junior sessions are Wednesday 6pm-7pm & Friday 6pm-7pm. Please contact the club by email before attending
These sessions are for children aged 8 years upwards and are led by our fully qualified UKA coaches.
We have various groups, some focus on learning the basic movement skills for athletics with the others developing those skills further for competition.

What are the Social Runs and when do they take place?
Social Runs meet on a Thursday in the carpark next to Lloyds Bank on Cherryfield Drive, Kirkby Town Centre. These are open to members and non members. These sessions are FREE to all and give runners the chance to run safely in an organised group on the roads around Kirkby/Fazakerley. There are groups for different paces from those new to running or have been running for years.
Group 1 - Sub 8 minute miles. This group is for runners who can run for 7 miles in 60mins.
Group 2 - Sub 9 minute miles. This group is for runners who can run for 6 miles in 60mins.
Group 3 - 9+ minute miles. This group is for runners who can run between 5-6 miles in 60mins.
Group 4 - 11+ minute miles. This group is for runners who run 4-5 miles in 60 mins.
Group 5 - Walking Group. This group is for those that walk and chat for 60mins.
All groups will loop back and no one is left behind. 16 years and over only.

how do I join Kirkby milers ac?
All our memberships are done online. It's the easiest and safest way to join. Just click on the memberships page to be taken to our club portal.
what do i do if i wish to raise a complaint or have a welfare issue?
We have a welfare and complaints policy on our website here. Ultimately any issues should be raised with one of our Welfare Officers (Christopher Sullivan or Hayley Smallman). You can contact them via email at [email protected] or through [email protected]

WHAT IS THE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP AND CAN I TAKE PART?
Our Club Championship is for road races and is open to members aged 16 years and over. Members must have a current standard membership to be eligible. Points are awarded based on age-grade % calculated by the club and NOT first over the line. The final table will be decided on the criteria set in the championship rules. DO YOU COMPETE IN MANY EVENTS?
Yes. All club members have the opportunity to take part in athletics, road running and cross country events throughout the year. In fact there are not many weekends without some form of event taking place. We offer access to a wide range of athletics and running events. See our calendar for a full and comprehensive list of available events.

HOW CAN I HELP SUPPORT THE CLUB?
We are always looking for volunteers to help around the club. These can be to help coach, be on our committee and help at events. If you are interested in volunteering, please email [email protected]
WHERE CAN I PURCHASE KIRKBY MILERS CLUB CLOTHING SUCH AS VESTS ETC?
All items can be purchased via our online Club Store and either posted out to you for a small delivery charge or collected at track for free , this includes your club vest which needs to be worn at all races.
DO YOU HAVE END OF SEASON AWARDS?
Yes. In December we like to celebrate the year gone by and recognise the winners of various awards. We have a Senior Members and a Mini Miler Christmas Party and Award Ceremonies. At these we award the Club Championship Prizes, all age categories and also Coaches recognition awards. These are great occasions for members to get together in a social setting and celebrate the many achievements of the club and members.
The dates for the parties are circulated well in advance to members and tickets can be purchased via our club portal.
